SD202500479

Program duration: 8 academic hours
Tuition fee: 45 Eur
Teaching method: Contact / Distance learning

About the training
This training program is intended for social workers working with elderly people and people with dementia, and aims to introduce the latest, creativity-based working methods that have already proven themselves in international practice.

Participants will get acquainted with the “TimeSlips” method - a world-renowned creative storytelling method that allows people with dementia to express themselves even after losing some of their cognitive functions. The method helps to revive imagination, create connection, reduce anxiety, loneliness and strengthen emotional well-being.

Other innovative practical methods will also be introduced during the training:
– tactile communication techniques,
– self-expression through movement, music or poetry,
– possibilities for involving museums and cultural institutions,
– alternative communication strategies with people with cognitive impairments.

Participants will practice a lot: they will create stories based on visual cues, perform creative exercises, learn non-verbal communication and try out activities themselves that they will be able to apply in their work the next day.

The program helps social workers:

  • expand their methodological “toolkit”;

  • gain the courage to apply creative methods in care institutions;

  • strengthen the emotional well-being and social engagement of people with dementia;

  • work not only professionally, but also humanly – with sensitivity and dignity.
