SD202500505

Program duration: 16 academic hours
Tuition fee: 65 Eur
Teaching method: Contact / Distance learning

About the training
This training program is intended for social workers and professionals working with individuals experiencing difficulties with psychoactive substance use. The training focuses on real-world practice – how to recognize risky use, how to talk to unmotivated or ambivalent clients and how to help them maintain change in the long term.

During the training, participants will become familiar with science-based methods widely used in Europe and recommended in international guidelines: brief intervention (BBI), motivational counseling (MC) and relapse prevention strategies. The majority of the program is dedicated to practice – role-playing, real-life case analysis, simulations and testing of specific tools.

Special attention is paid to the ability to:

  • talk about use in a non-judgmental and ethical manner;

  • strengthen the client’s internal motivation to change;

  • recognize signs of relapse risk and develop realistic prevention plans together with the client;

  • choose the appropriate intervention according to the client’s stage of change.

This is training that helps professionals feel more confident in complex situations and provides a clear, structured “toolkit” for daily work with people with addictions.
